Two women were arrested Wednesday after they stole merchandise from Victoria’s Secret at the mall and struck a loss prevention agent who tried to stop them, police said.
According to a police report, on Aug. 26, Milford police responded to Victoria’s Secret on the complaint of a robbery that had just occurred.
An investigation led to the arrest of Taylor Allen, 31, of West Haven, and Sharra Carter, 32, of New Haven, who are accused of taking items from the store totaling $98.45 without paying for them.
When confronted by a loss prevention agent, Allen struck the agent in the head several times with an open hand and scratched him in several spots, police said.
Allen and Carter fled the scene and were later located by police at a New Haven Avenue business. Further investigation showed Allen to have an active warrant for her arrest in regard to a failure to appear charge out of New Haven from June 22, and Carter to have an active warrant for her arrest for failing to appear in court on charges out of New Haven from May 5, 2014.
For the Victoria’s Secret incident, Allen was charged with robbery, larceny, conspiracy to commit robbery and conspiracy to commit larceny. She was held in police custody on a $25,500 bond.
Carter was charged with larceny, conspiracy to commit larceny and conspiracy to commit robbery and was held on $27,500 bond.
On Aug. 26, Milford police arrested Magdelena Krysiuk, 34, of Milford after they responded to a Tapping Circle address on the complaint of domestic violence.
Police accuse Krysiuk of engaging in a physical altercation with a male inside the home.
She is charged with disorderly conduct and third-degree assault.
She was released on a promise to appear in court on Aug. 27.
Milford police arrested Amanda Belcher, 32, of Bridgeport on Aug. 28 after they responded to a report of a shoplifter in custody at Victoria’s Secret.
Police accuse Belcher of shoplifting $402 worth of merchandise from the store. Further investigation revealed Belcher held five active warrants for her arrest, four warrants for failure to appear and one warrant for violation of probation.
She is charged with sixth-degree larceny, four counts of failure to appear in court and probation violation.
She was held on a $14,500 bond at the time of her arrest.
Milford police arrested Richard Johnson, 40, of Milford on Aug. 30 after they responded to a McQuillan drive address on the complaint of domestic violence.
Investigation led to the arrest of Johnson, who is accused of engaging in a physical altercation with a female at the residence.
Johnson is charged with disorderly conduct, interfering with an emergency call and third-degree strangulation.
He was held on a $5,000 bond at the time of his arrest.
Milford police took custody of Robert Jackson, 19, of New Haven on Aug. 29 on two outstanding warrants for his arrest. Jackson is accused of committing two residential burglaries on June 30, on Brooklawn Drive.
One of the burglaries led to the theft of a motor vehicle, which was recovered later that day.
Jackson is charged with first-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit first-degree larceny, two counts of conspiracy to commit first-degree burglary, fourth-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit fourth-degree larceny.
He was held on a $300,000 bond at the time of his arrest.
