Avenue Stores, LLC, the third largest national plus size retailer, will open a new retail store in Milford Sept. 17, catering to women in sizes 14-32.
“Plus size clothing has become such a hot button topic in the news, but it’s something that Avenue has been doing for over 30 years,” company officials said in a press release. “As a plus size brand, it is important to Avenue that customers feel comfortable in every aspect of the clothing.”
Avenue has developed three key principles as the foundation of the brand: fit, comfort, and being a trend authority for all seasons.
In addition to regular plus sizes, Avenue offers extended sizes 28-32 in pants, dresses and swimwear. The company offers petite and tall pants and denim. All shoes and boots are available in wide width, with some styles available in extra wide width.
The technical team at Avenue designs small details within each garment in areas where comfort is important to provide customers with the perfect fit, store officials said.
“We want to communicate to the Avenue woman that we understand her needs and it is our goal to provide outfitting solutions that will make her look and feel her best,” said Liz Williams, CEO.
Since 1987, Avenue has been providing clothing to the plus size market. Now, the brand is expanding, with eight locations. To complement expansion, Avenue’s online store has also extended shipping to nine international locations including Australia, Canada, France, Germany, UK, Italy, Spain, Bahamas, and Mexico.
