Musical instrument donations sought
Linda Whittaker, band director at the Milford Senior Center is seeking used band instruments for use by band members. On several occasions, seniors have asked to play in the band but their high school or military instruments are long gone. The players could find enjoyment again, if there were instruments for them to borrow. All donations are tax deductible. Call 203-877-2134 for additional information.
Glockenspiel and clarinet plays needed
According to Whittaker, “A glockenspiel and B-flat clarinet have been donated to the Milford Senior Center for use by band members. Not many people have played glockenspiel, but if you have played piano or organ in the past, it would take only a week or two to learn to play the ‘clock.’ “Call Linda Whittaker, Milford Senior Center Band Director at 203 877-2134 if you are interested.
Singers age 55 and older are invited to join Linda Whittaker’s Choral Group on Friday mornings from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. in the Music Room at the Senior Center, 9 Jepson Drive. The Band plays at several afternoon Senior Center events throughout the year. Call Linda at 203-877-5131 or 203-877-2134 a few days ahead, so she can prepare a music binder for you before you arrive.
