The holiday season, beginning with the Thanksgiving holiday and right through December, brought many extraordinary blessings. The response to the personal appeal made by Mayor Ben Blake for food items was overwhelming. The donations that were received from homemade baked goods, to non-perishable food items, paper goods, and thoughtful gifts of hats, gloves, mittens and scarves, and blankets (many of which were hand knit) were so gratefully received. Our Annual Appeal was a success as the generosity of so many in our community were reflected in the wonderful contributions that will help to enhance and sustain our programs.
We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to all of our community partners, those who thought of our clients with so many examples of kindness as mentioned above, as well as those who participated in the Adopt-a-Resident program to supply holiday gifts and/or funds to make our Resident Holiday Party a happy and successful event. The emotional response and expressions of thanks by our residents because they realized that this community cares for and about them made the event even more special.
Our thanks to “Santa” aka Rick George who spent the evening with our residents and staff distributing gifts and visiting with the children despite his very busy schedule.
Our dedicated staff should be recognized because their hard work is what instills the community to become partners with us and because they are the ones who face the daily challenges in trying to help our residents realize self-sufficiency once again.
Finally to our Board of Directors whose careful guidance and stewardship enables us to implement our mission every day.
Best wishes for a health and prosperous New Year to all.
