The Milford Police Department is investigating an armed robbery at the Quick Food Mart, 305 New Haven Avenue, Monday at about 11 p.m., during which a store employee was shot in the leg.
A preliminary investigation revealed that a man entered the business demanding money from the store employee, police said.
The suspect then shot the employee in the leg. The employee suffered a non-life threatening injury, police said.
The suspect fled the store on foot, heading southbound on Buckingham Avenue.
Police recovered the firearm at the crime scene.
The suspect is described as a black man, approximately 5’8” tall. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants and a light colored shirt. The suspect had the hood of the sweatshirt on his head, attempting to cover his face, police said.
The Quick Food Mart is located at the Gulf gas station property, next to Jimmy’s Apizza.
