Failure to appear
Milford police took custody of Contesta McDowell regarding an outstanding warrant for her arrest on Sept. 29. McDowell is accused of failing to appear in court on Aug. 20.
The original charges stem from an arrest in Milford on Dec. 4, 2013, for disorderly conduct and risk of injury offenses. McDowell is charged with first-degree failure to appear in court.
Bond was set at $5,000 at the time of arrest.
Assault
Milford police arrested Jason Mooney, 23, of Milford for assault on Sept. 30 after they received a complaint regarding a disturbance at an Intervale Parkway residence.
Police accuse Mooney of pushing his companion, causing her to fall on some broken glass inside the residence. Police say that Mooney allegedly threw a glass bottle at the victim’s vehicle as she attempted to leave the property, damaging the window where she was sitting.
Mooney is charged with third-degree assault and second-degree breach of peace. Bond was set at $5,000 for a court appearance on Oct. 1.
Protective order violation
Milford police arrested Alec McDonald, 19, of Milford for violating a protective order after they received a complaint regarding a disturbance at an East Town Road business on Oct. 2.
Investigation led to the arrest of McDonald, whom police accuse of violating conditions of his court-issued protective order.
McDonald is charged with violation of protective order.
Bond was set at $1,000.
Assault
Milford police arrested Emily Rogers, 21, of Branford on Oct. 2 after they received a complaint regarding an assault that occurred outside a housing complex on New Haven Avenue.
Investigation led to the arrest of Rogers, who is accused of assaulting an acquaintance.
Rogers is charged with third-degree assault and second-degree breach of peace.
Rogers was released on a promise to appear in court on Oct. 28.
Drug offense
Milford police arrested Heather Cullen, 43, of Milford and Eric Manley, 47, of West Haven on drug charges after detectives observed suspicious activity inside a vehicle on Oct. 4.
Police, with the assistance of the Milford Police Department’s K-9 Cedar, located crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle, which was located on Woodmont Road.
Police say Cullen allegedly attempted to destroy additional crack cocaine she had hidden on her person. They say that Cullen was combative, resisting police efforts and providing false information regarding her identity during her arrest. Manley was also found in possession of crack cocaine.
Cullen is charged with possession of crack cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, destruction of evidence, interfering with police, and criminal impersonation. She was held on a $5,000 bond at the time of her arrest.
Manley is charged with possession of crack cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was released on a promise to appear in court on Oct. 28.
