A Fairfield County-based nonprofit is asking everyone to spread hope and warmth in the new year by starting hat and mitten collections for adults and children in need.
Halle’s Hope was founded in memory of Milford kindergarten student, Halle Anne Root, who died in December 2012. The organization works to honor the five year-old’s spirit by spreading hope and helping children and families.
Now, through Jan. 15, Halle’s Hope is encouraging area residents to get a collection started for an organization in need. Participants can can either distribute the hats and mittens themselves or contact Halle’s Hope to pick up and deliver the items to a deserving organization.
“Get your workplace, friends, school and neighborhood involved,” the nonprofit said of the drive. “Inspire them to spread the hope, too.”
Plan on starting a collection? Halle’s Hope wants to know. Stay connected on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter by using #HallesMittensandHats.
