Anyone interested in Scouting memorabilia and history is invited to the opening of a Scouting museum in Milford on Sunday, Jan. 4, from 3 to 5 p.m.

The museum, the Southwestern Connecticut Scouting Heritage Museum, Inc., has been created at the Connecticut Yankee Council at 60 Wellington Road in Milford.

The museum features Scouting memorabilia going back to the early days of Scouting from Alfred W. Dater, Central Connecticut, Connecticut Yankee, Fairfield County, Mauwehu, Pomperaug, Quinnipiac Councils and more.

There is an extensive patch collection, plus a historic Pinewood Derby exhibit, photographs, documents, uniforms, posters, pennants and other Scouting memorabilia.

Board members will be at the opening to share their expertise on Scouting.

There is no charge to visit the museum and light refreshments will be served at the grand opening.

For further information, contact museum secretary Bob Sherman at 203-714-6137; email footdoc7777@gmail.com or visit the museum website at swctscoutmuseum.org.
